Schools Programme

Instant Training offers an alternative education programme to young people aged 13 - 16 years of age in partnership with St Helens and Warrington Education Authority. In order for a young person to take part in the programme a referral has to be made from a local high school.

Whilst taking part in the schools programme the young people are offered:

• An opportunity to work towards a City & Guilds Level 1 Accredited Qualification in Bricklaying, Plastering or Woodworking.
• An opportunity to work towards Key Skills Qualifications in Communication and Application of Number
• Work Placements with a local employer
• Educational Visits relating to the Construction Industry
• Awareness raising sessions from external agencies
• Ongoing support
• Target setting and reviews
• Portfolio building
• A fun and friendly environment to learn and work in
  Health and Safety Awareness
• Work Placement Planning and Preparation
• First Aid Certificates

The company has been established for three years and has built an excellent reputation for the service and provision that it has offered to this age group. This has resulted in Instant Training being awarded the 'Recognition of Quality Award for Off Site Learning', which is a quality kite mark awarded by the LSC (Government Learning and Skills Council).
